Clean yo' washin' machine!

Something I do Monthly, is clean my front loading washing machine. That s#@t can get nasssty! I found this helpful tip through clean and scentsible's blog. The gasket has to be wiped down after every wash too or else moisture builds up and causes mold. It's also a good idea to just leave the washing machine door ajar if you can, that way air will prohibit mold growth.

To clean your machine, wipe it down first and then I add a little baking soda to the hard to clean spots like the gasket drain and in the detergent drawer. After that, I add in 2 cups of vinegar evenly distributing it between the detergent drawer and front loading area.  I am a little bit of a mad scientist and love to watch the bubbles after I add the vinegar. I feel like they are actually scrubbing away the yucky stuff.

It seems to work well to keep the mildew smell at bay. However, I found if I leave the gasket wet too long it is very difficult to get the mold stain out. I have tried bleach too. (Never together with vinegar.) But the stain has not gone away. Stubborn Mother F-er! I WILL find away to get rid of it though. Once I do I will update the post.
